This post is dedicated to our good friend Sis Caddo. Although she is temporary hiatus, my prayer is that she will remember how much we all love her, and I will continue with the Sis “Caddo’s Seven Word Sundays!” until she returns to us. Meanwhile, I know that she still stops by to visit her friends, and so in honor of Sis Caddo, who really loves acrostics, I tried my hand at an acrostic below. How my soul longs for You, Lord!

So far, 2013 has been one of the most painful and difficult times of my life, and that’s saying a lot. I’ve been battered and bruised by the enemy of my soul, as I’ve suffered chronic acute pain, grief, and illness, followed by the deepest darkest depression I’ve ever experienced, and on top of that, terrible financial difficulty because I am no longer able to work. All of these things combined have also left me struggling with fear and anxiety. I keep trying to remember that God does not give us me a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind, but these things just keep attacking me from nowhere, while I am at my weakest.

Why Am I Discouraged?
Hope in GOD!

¹ As the deer longs for streams of water,
so I long for You, O God.

⁴ My heart is breaking as I remember

I walked among the crowds of worshipers,

I will put my hope in God!

Help — I’ve Fallen And Can’t Get Up!

Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

This week has been such a struggle for me, but I praise God for His unending love, and for the men and women who are my brothers and sisters in Christ. I thank the Lord for His Holy Spirit, who prayed for me when I was too weak to pray for myself. 

And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the HolySpirit prays for uswith groanings that cannot be expressed in words.

THE WORLD HATES OUTCASTS
JESUS LOVES OUTCASTS!

I am so grateful that Jesus loves the outcast, the broken, the ugly, the unwanted, the unlovable, of whom I am chief among them. He looks at those the world despises and He says, “Come, My beloved! For I have loved you with an everlasting love. With cords of love, I have drawn you to Me. For I know the plans I have for you — plans to prosper you and not to harm you. I have plans to give you hope and a future. Fear not, for I am with you and I will never leave you nor forsake you. Though your mother and father forsake you, I will lift you up! Sis Caddo, whoever would have thought that this little exercise of coming up with seven little words would minister to anyone? And yet, this morning, this song rose up in my spirit, and as I highlighted seven words in each line of the song, the Lord ministered to my wounded spirit, and for that, I am so grateful! Thank you for listening to and obeying Holy Spirit when He placed this idea for Caddo’s Seven Word Sundays into your heart, because if you hadn’t, I might not have received the healing balm that the words to this song have provided me. Great is His Faithfulness!

This post is for Caddo’s Seven Word Sundays! My seven words are in two parts this Sunday, because that’s what the Lord placed on my heart. 🙂

He Made Known His Ways To Moses

(Psalm 103:7a NKJV)

I love this  portion of scripture, because it speaks volumes. He made known His ways to Moses… When you’re intimate with someone, you know their ways… You know what each glance means… You know what each smile means… You know the things that please the one you’re intimate with, and you know the things that displease him/her… You know what buttons to push, when you’re intimate with someone… 

I’ve been married to my husband for more than 31 years. Because we’re intimate, I know how to put a smile on that man’s face, and I know how to irritate him. I know how to make him laugh, and I know the things that hurt him. Because we’re intimate, we know how to communicate with each other without even speaking. Because we are intimate, we even think alike on many issues…

This is the kind of relationship that God had with Moses. It’s the kind of relationship He wants with us… It’s the kind of relationship I want with Him…

His Acts to The Children of Israel
(Psalm 103:7b NKJV)

The children of Israel weren’t intimate with God like Moses was. They knew the mighty acts He did… how He sent the plagues to Egypt… How He parted the Red Sea… How He led them through the wilderness with a pillar of fire and a cloud… How He sent manna from heaven… They knew all about those mighty acts of God, but they didn’t know Him intimately, nor did they want to. It was enough for them to just receive His gifts… It was all they wanted from Him…

So… what do you want? Do you want to know His ways, or is it enough to only know His acts?

He Touched Me And Made Me Whole

Hallelujah! I’ve been thinking about the impact that Jesus has had on my life, and one of the things that I’m most grateful for is that He touched me and made me whole… He took my broken pieces, those painful shards, and lovingly put me back together again. He isn’t afraid of getting dirty… He just reaches down into our mess, and touches us… whether we’re diseased… or filthy… or rejected… or unlovable… He touches those that no one else would dream of touching… And just as the last verse of the song says, “I will never cease to praise Him, I’ll shout it while eternity rolls!”
