I read this post this morning, and it totally blessed me. There is such wisdom and hope in this, as we learn to wait upon the Lord.
Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord.
Psalm 27 was written by David, likely at a time of danger as implied by verse 12 – Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes, for false witnesses rise up against me, breathing out violence [Psalm 27:12]. Perhaps the background of this psalm is this – David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the LORD his God [1 Samuel 30:6]. Perhaps it’s somewhere else – David had many dangerous circumstances in his life.
